Putting Others First

In this week’s Midweek Musings we will be thinking about the call to put others first – and what that might look like – following on from the National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday.

It was a great event, held online, and the clips used are available at https://www.christiansinparliament.org.uk/prayer-breakfast/2020-livestream/ – well worth 30 minutes of your time!

One of the central challenges that was outlined was how we can follow the sacrificial example of Jesus as called for in Philippians 2.

Please watch the video and then think about the questions below:

Some questions to think about

  1. What great examples have you seen of people putting others first?
  2. Do you agree we shouldn’t just want to go back to how things were?
  3. What changes in behaviour do you think would make the greatest difference?
  4. How can we, as a church, demonstrate some of the principles Paul spoke about even more than before?

Please feel free to add comments to this post – or join us for a Zoom call to discuss it at 2pm on Thursday 2nd July
